Arn Schoch - President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Schoch has been in his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic since 2004. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of Pan-Global Energy Ltd., a TSX listed oil and gas company, which became Pearl Exploration and Production Ltd.
Jim Screaton, CA - Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Screaton is a chartered accountant with over 25 years of experience. He has experience in senior accounting and finance roles in the oil and gas industry and in public accounting with Ernst & Young. He brings a broad range of experience in finance, taxation, accounting and mergers and acquisitions to the management team.
Immediately before joining Strategic, Mr. Screaton was a director and President and Chief Financial Officer of Camton Exploration Inc. Prior to Camton, Mr. Screaton was Chief Financial Officer of Sky Petroleum, Inc., a publicly traded company in the US with holdings in United Arab Emirates, and earlier, Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Sentra Resources Corporation, a publicly traded Canadian company, until its sale in 2004. He also serves as Past-Chairman and a member of the board of directors of the Small Explorers & Producers Association of Canada (SEPAC), an organization representing the interests of over 400 oil and gas companies and
associates in Canada.
Mr. Screaton has a degree in B. Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University.
Sean Hayes, PGeol - Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Hayes brings 28 years of combined E&P experience in both international and Canadian arenas. Dr. Hayes is a Greenfield/Brownfield development expert and has been involved in numerous projects worldwide.
He started his career with Mobil Oil (Canada) before joining BP as a development geologist in the UK. Dr. Hayes was Talisman Energy’s corporate advisor for reservoir modelling from 2001 until 2007.
Dr. Hayes has a BSc in Geology from the University of Manchester and received a PhD in Structural Geology from the University of Cardiff, UK.
Dr. Hayes obtained an MSc in Hydrogeology and Fluid Flow (1993) from the University of Birmingham before pursuing his current interest in 3D reservoir modelling as Geosciences Manager for Reservoir Management Limited,
Aberdeen, UK.
Gurpreet Sawhney, PEng - Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Sawhney’s areas of expertise include integrated reservoir characterization, compositional and thermal stimulation, enhanced oil recovery and horizontal well modelling as well as CO2 sequestration.
From 1993 to 1996, Mr. Sawhney worked with PanCanadian Petroleum Ltd., as a reservoir simulation specialist, before leaving to found and manage ResModMan Inc., a consultancy group providing dynamic reservoir flow simulation solutions and reservoir management services to numerous (Canadian) domestic and international clients on over 100 projects.
Mr. Sawhney is a BEng Graduate in Chemical Engineering from Panjab University, India. He obtained an MSc in Chemical Engineering and an MBA both from the University of Calgary.
Kirk Boote, PEng - Vice President, Operations
Mr. Boote has over 25 years of experience in reservoir engineering and operations both in westrn Canada and internationally. He has a track record of working with projects from inception, to execution, to
onstream production.
Mr. Boote has worked for Amoco Canada, Vermillion Energy and has extensive consulting experieince with Husky Energy, Culane Energy, Wave Energy and many others. He brings expertise in reservoir modelling, enhanced rcovery, chemical flooding, horizontal multi-frac technolgies, operations, project management and corporate management.
Mr. Boote graduated with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
