Oscar Skold - Senior Reservoir Advisor

Mr. Skold brings almost 20 years of broad range reservoir and technical experience to the Strategic team.

Mr. Skold started his career in mineral prospecting before moving into the oil-patch as a well site geologist. In 1992, he joined Z&S Geology (Norway) Ltd., where he was involved in the application of innovative wellbore technology. From 1995 to 1998 Mr. Skold was employed by Smedviq Technologies (later Roxar) in Houston, USA where he was responsible for business development in North America. He then joined Technoguide AS, Norway, working on software development and the first commercial releases of PETREL, now an industry-wide standard software for 3D geocellular, reservoir modelling. In 2001 Mr. Skold became Managing Director of Technoguide (Canada) Ltd. in Calgary before Technoguide’s acquisition by Schlumberger in 2003.  Until November 2007, Mr. Skold was Business Development Manager and Domain Champion for PETREL in Schlumberger.

Mr. Skold obtained a BSc Geology from the University of Lund and an MSc Petroleum Geology from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Gary Billings - Senior Geophysical Advisor

Mr. Billings began his career with Shell Canada from 1980 until 1993 in domestic exploration. His work at Shell’s Calgary Research Centre involved seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation in the deep basin and overthrust belt. He joined Talisman Energy (1993-2008) as a technical specialist advising on seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation contributing to the evaluation of risks and potential reserves on international and frontier ventures. His work there also included advising on the design and processing of land, 2D and 3D surveys in challenging areas of North and South America, marine 3Ds in Southeast Asia, the use of AVO for lithology and fluid determination. He also spent four years on the Globe Peer Review Team, contributing to the evaluation of risks and potential reserves on international and frontier ventures.

Gary Billings is a BSc graduate in Physics from the University of Victoria.
